The Philippine firm sponsors academic competition

Manabat Sanagustin & Co., CPAs was one of the principal sponsors to the Pilipinas Students in Free Entreprise’s (SIFE) National Exposition, a university-wide competition that seeks to design social entrepreneurial programs to assist the local communities using the principle of free enterprise. The competition was held on August 2, 2008 at the Dusit Thani Hotel.

Participating students presented their projects to Filipino business leaders who chose the country’s representative for the annual SIFE World Cup which will be held in Singapore for 2008. Our Firm’s Principal for Markets, Ms. Elizabeth Locsin, served as a member of the board of judges.

Pilipinas SIFE is part of organization founded by the American-based National Leadership Institute. SIFE creates partnership between the business sector and the academe aiming to produce next generation of business leaders who are capable to create entrepreneurial projects for communities.

In the Philippines, sponsorship of Pilipinas SIFE activities, like the National Exposition, is also one of the Manabat Sanagustin & Co., CPAs' corporate social responsibility programs. The Firm provides the secretariat and accounting services to Pilipinas SIFE with our Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Roberto G. Manabat as Pilipinas SIFE’s Vice Chairman. The local Chairman and CEO for SIFE is Mr. Jose P. Leviste.
