Alex Capri conducts roundtable discussion with AmCham members on Trade and Customs
|
Mr. Alex Capri, Managing Director of the Trade & Customs Practice in Asia Pacific visited the Philippines on March 26-27, 2008 to discuss with officers of the US embassy, the American Chamber of Commerce and other industry leaders relevant and topical issues in international trade and customs within the region.
In his meeting with the key decision makers of major American companies in the Philippines, Mr. Capri tackled important areas on how to streamline and reduce transaction costs in their cross-border operations through an informed application of international trade rules (World Trade Organization, ASEAN etc.). These included business updates as well as techniques on how companies can lower their import duties, mitigate risks in light of enforced customs compliance audits and exploit trade opportunities afforded by preferential trading arrangements (e.g. Generalized System of Preferences).
