'Doing business in China' seminar

 

 

MANILA, Philippines -- The Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. (FFCCCII), the largest organization of Filipino businessmen with Chinese heritage in the Philippines, and KPMG Manabat, Sanagustin and Co., recently awarded the Best Accounting Firm of the Year 2007, will present a business seminar on “Emerging Markets: Doing Business in China” next week.

The discussion is scheduled on October 16 at the Federation Center in Binondo, Manila, according to organizers.

Guest speaker for the event is Honson To, Transaction Services leader of KPMG’s Financial Advisory Services practice in the Central and Eastern China region, who will arrive from Shanghai to address the 200-strong FFCCCII delegation and guests who are attending the conference.

KPMG’s Global Insurance practice was awarded Best Accounting Firm of the Year at the Reactions Global Awards Dinner ceremony in New York in August. Every year Reactions, the leading monthly insurance magazine, polls its readers on which firms, deals, initiatives and industry figures are performing above the competition and are the leaders in their field.

A second resource person for the seminar is John Gu, a partner of KPMG China, who will assist in discussing the legal framework and the intricacies of doing business in China including transfer pricing, repatriation of profits and taxes.
